The street itself has a pleasant residential character. Around the corner is the JP Heijestraat which offers a great variety of specialty shops, restaurants, bars and a has a real neighbourhood feel to it in the heart of the Oud-West district. Another great bonus is the proximity to the Vondelpark which runs parallel to the Overtoom, a main road into the city centre. Heading through the park is a convenient way of skipping traffic and is best done by bike or on foot.
